The Transbay Terminal Celebrates its Past with Historical Tours
One week before its close to make way for the new Transbay Transit Center, the Transbay Terminal was spruced up for a day of historical tours, allowing the public to view and remember the Terminal as it once existed in its post-WWII heyday. Previously closed-off sections of the Terminal were opened to the public, including Cuddles Bar, a cafeteria, a shoeshine booth, and—perhaps most exciting—the Transbay Jail. Over 2,000 visitors attended the Tours, and were invited to leave their favorite memories of the Terminal. WPI provided graphics and collateral for the event, including a collection of historic photos from the building’s colorful past.
So long, old building. We look forward to meeting your shinier successor in 2017.
