The new “coin and card” SFpark meters accept multiple forms of payment including VISA and MasterCard. Avoiding a parking ticket: $50 savings. Not having to carry a trunk full of change: Priceless.

Customers can access real-time parking availability and pricing information via SFpark.org and SFpark‘s iPhone app.

SFpark launched with a colorful ad campaign featuring I Shot Him‘s cheerful illustrations of the project pilot neighborhoods.

SFpark was the first endeavor of its kind — with plenty of research, real-world application, and roadblocks — so we published a book that laid out our game plan and approach, titled SFpark: Putting Theory Into Practice. The book was launched at a workshop hosted by the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), where city officials and planners shared tips on how to improve transportation.

WPI designed wayfinding and instructional signage posted throughout project pilot areas.
